Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Our adventure began with a flight into Leh, the capital of Ladakh. We took the day to acclimatize and explore the city. Highlights included visiting Leh Palace and the bustling local market, where we sampled delicious momos and shopped for souvenirs.

Day 2: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass

We set out on our bikes for the challenging journey to Nubra Valley, passing through the world’s highest motorable road, Khardung La Pass (5,359 meters). The panoramic views of the Himalayas were awe-inspiring. We spent the night in Hunder, Nubra Valley, and enjoyed a camel safari in the cold desert.

Day 3: Exploring Nubra Valley

We explored Nubra Valley further, visiting Diskit Monastery, which offered breathtaking views of the valley and the towering Maitreya Buddha statue. The day was spent taking in the tranquility and beauty of this unique region.

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Valley

The journey from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake was an adventure in itself. We traversed through the rugged Shyok Valley, with the mighty Karakoram Range as our backdrop. As we arrived at Pangong Lake, its azure waters and serene surroundings left us spellbound. Camping by the lake was an unforgettable experience.

Day 5: Pangong Lake to Leh

After a peaceful morning by the lake, we began our ride back to Leh. En route, we stopped at the famous 3 Idiots movie location, the Shanti Stupa, and the Shey Palace. The road offered ever-changing landscapes, from desert dunes to high mountain passes.

Day 6: Leh to Tso Moriri Lake

Our next destination was the stunning Tso Moriri Lake. The journey took us through picturesque villages and the beautiful Changthang Plateau. Tso Moriri’s tranquil waters and the backdrop of snow-capped peaks were a photographer’s dream.

Day 7: Exploring Tso Moriri

We spent a day exploring the area around Tso Moriri, including the nearby Karzok Monastery. The remoteness and serenity of this place were a stark contrast to our busy lives back home.

Day 8: Tso Moriri to Sarchu via More Plains

We left Tso Moriri and headed towards Sarchu, crossing the breathtaking More Plains. The long stretches of flatlands surrounded by mountains felt like we were on another planet. Sarchu, at 4,290 meters, was our stop for the night.

Day 9: Sarchu to Manali via Baralacha La Pass

The final leg of our journey took us from Sarchu to Manali, passing through the challenging Baralacha La Pass. We encountered river crossings, winding roads, and some of the most mesmerizing landscapes in the region.

Day 10: Manali Rest Day

We decided to take a well-deserved rest day in Manali, exploring the town and reflecting on our incredible journey. It was a great opportunity to recharge before the final push.

Day 11: Manali to Chandigarh

Our Leh Ladakh bike trip concluded as we rode from Manali to Chandigarh. The lush green valleys and the warmth of the plains were a welcome change from the high-altitude terrain.
