About

Rapper Afroman, originally from South Central Los Angeles, California(born Joesph EdgarForeman on July 28, 1974, in Mississippi), subsequently relocated

to eastern Palmdale, California, which he has mentioned in his songs. The song “Because I Got High,” which became popular in 2001 and was included on Howard Stern’s radio program, local radio stations, Napster, and the soundtrack of the stoner film “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” is his most well-known work. The line “Colt 45 and two Zig Zags” in “Crazy Rap,” his other most well-known song, frequently leads people to refer to it as “Colt 45.”Afroman also likes to point to his autonomy from record labels and the “corporate world” and uses this to illustrate how an artist may handle their own recording and distribution.

Rapper

Roman started recording original songs in the eighth grade and selling them to his peers. This was the start of his musical career. He previously recounted, “My eighth-grade teacher was the subject of my first tape.” She got me expelled from school since, at the time, it was very important that my pants not hang loose. I wrote a song about her for which I received about 400 copies from professors, students, and other people in general. And I understood that, in a way, I was still at school even though I wasn’t there because my music was. I would get all these folks to come to my house simply to tell me how great they thought the song was.” During his early years, Foreman also played guitar and drums in his church.

After relocating to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1998, Afroman released his debut album, My Fro-philosophy. It was there that he met producer Tim Ramenofsky, drummer Jody Stallone, and keyboardist/bassist Darrell Havard.

Before the album’s title track was played on The Howard Stern Show, Ramenofsky produced and released Afroman’s Because I Got High on T-Bones Records in 2000. The album was mostly distributed through live performances and the file-sharing website Napster. Afroman’s reluctance to clean his room served as inspiration for the song’s lyrics, which revolve around the idea of drug use delaying regular tasks. The song peaked at the end of 2001 and was used in the 2000s movies Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Perfect Score, and Disturbia.

Personal Life

Afroman was performing at a live music venue in Biloxi, Mississippi on February 17, 2015, when a woman entered the stage. Dancing, she came up behind Foreman with a drink in her hand. She touched Foreman, who turned around and struck her in the head, bringing her to the ground. After being escorted offstage by security, he was detained, arrested, and accused of assault. Soon after, he was released on bond.

Twelve to fifteen security guards were allegedly on duty to keep an eye on a crowd that numbered more than five hundred. During the interview, Foreman’s agent stated that the woman’s invasion of his personal space was the reason behind the unintentional behavior. He added that he thought the woman was just another person in the audience heckling him all the time. Since then, he has issued a public apology and is looking for help controlling his rage.
