CBSE Class 10 Hindi Syllabus

The syllabus is the roadmap for teachers as well as the students to understand the topics and chapters they need to cover throughout the session. Hindi Syllabus Class 10 for 2024-25 focuses on the overall development of students, and is divided into three main categories.

Reading and Writing: The reading and writing section in the Hindi syllabus intends to improve the Hindi reading and writing skills of the students. The syllabus includes reading comprehension (अपठित गद्यांश and अपठित काव्यांश), writing tasks (अनुच्छेद लेखन, पत्र लेखन, सन्देश लेखन, सूचना लेखन, विज्ञापन लेखन, संदेश लेखन, ई.मेल लेखन, and लघु कथा.लेखन), and other creative writing assignments. 

Grammar:  CBSE includes a grammar section in the syllabus to improve grammatical skills. In board exams, the grammar-related questions are based on the passage given. The syllabus for the grammar includes रचना के आधार पर वाक्य भेद , वाच्य , पदपरिचय, अलंकार, सर्वनाम, कारक, संज्ञा, विशेषण, and रस. 

Literature: The literature section highlights the significance of learning Hindi literature. It includes the major works of Hindi literature with cultural and historical context. The main books to cover the literature sections in CBSE are Shitij(क्षितिज) and Kritika(कृतिका). CBSE has deleted some chapters from the Class 10 Hindi Syllabus for 2023-24.

Topic-wise Preparation for Hindi CBSE Board Exams 2025

To start preparing for the CBSE Hindi board exam, students must understand the exam pattern first.  Understanding the exam pattern will help get a clear idea regarding the typology, and the types of questions students can encounter in the board exams. CBSE has increased the percentage of competency-based questions to 50 per cent, emphasizing problem-solving skills.

Reading Section Preparation

The reading section in the final exam comprises 10 marks as per the CBSE Class 10 Hindi Syllabus. To prepare for it, students should indulge in reading stories, poems, and even newspapers. 

  • Pick any random Hindi paragraph or questions from Hindi sample papers. 
  • Go through the questions related to the passage first. 
  • Highlight all the keywords given in the questions.
  • Read the unseen passage/poem focusing on the keywords. 
  • Read the questions again. 
  • Read the passage and try to find the answers to the given questions. 
  • In the case of synonyms, read the referred paragraph.

Writing Section Preparation

The writing section comprises 20% of the final examinations and students must try to stay updated with current affairs. To prepare for the writing section

  • Understand the writing topics format. 
  • Practice previous year questions and sample paper questions. 

Grammar Section Preparation

The grammar section comprises 16% of the final examination and the questions are asked by unseen passages and poems. To prepare for the grammar section

  • Students must follow the grammatical rules. 
  • Practice as many questions from worksheets and sample paper books. ‘
  • Try to read the question aloud with the given options, it will help in finding the correct answer. 

Literature Section Preparation

The literature section comprises 44% of the final examination. The sections are divided into two parts – Part 1 includes seen passages and poems whereas Part 2 includes short and long answers. 

  • Read the chapters from NCERT textbooks thoroughly.
  • Try to write a summary in your language.
  • Attempt NCERT examples and exercise questions. 

Students must try to practice questions from the latest Class 10 CBSE Hindi ‘A’ sample papers and include at least 3 previous year papers.

Creating a productive study plan is essential while preparing for the CBSE Class 10 examinations. If you use this method regularly, it will significantly boost your chances of getting good grades. 

  • Practicing Writing and Grammar

” Language competency is an acquired talent that needs regular practice in both reading and writing; it cannot be improved by memorization of grammar rules or gimmicks. To improve language abilities, Hindi students in CBSE Class 10 must not only write more quickly and with better handwriting but also become more at ease with prose.

  • Attempt Hindi Sample Paper

For students to pass the CBSE Class 10 Hindi board examination in 2024 with a score of 90 or more, they have to follow a thorough study plan that correlates with exam preparation. Students can improve by using Hindi A sample question papers as a useful resource to familiarize themselves with the format, format, and design of the board exam.
