About the LEGO Home Alone Set
The LEGO Ideas Home Alone set is a tribute to the original movie, released in 1990. It comes with 3 minifigures of Kevin, Harry, and Marv, as well as a detailed model of the McCallister family home. The set has over 3,000 pieces and measures over 13 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 10 inches deep when fully assembled. These specs award this set a spot on the list of the biggest Lego Sets ever.
Features of the Set
One of the standout features of the set is the attention to detail in the McCallister home. The house is full of small touches that will delight fans of the movie, such as the statue of liberty torch that Kevin uses as a booby trap, the spider that scares Marv, and the picture of Buzz’s girlfriend, which Kevin uses to fool the burglars.
The set also comes with a variety of accessories, including a paint can, crowbar, and BB gun, that allow you to recreate some of the movie’s most iconic scenes.
Minifigures
The minifigures themselves are also well-designed and accurate to the movie. Kevin comes with his famous red sweater and green knit hat, while Harry and Marv are decked out in their burglar outfits. Each minifigure has its unique facial expressions, adding to the set’s playability and collectability.
The set is recommended for ages 18 and up, and it is not difficult to see why. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, but the sheer number of pieces and the complexity of the build make it a challenging and time-consuming project. However, the result is a stunning display piece that will make fans of the movie feel like they are back in the McCallister home.
Overall, the LEGO Ideas Home Alone set is a fantastic tribute to one of the most beloved holiday movies of all time. The attention to detail, the accuracy of the minifigures, and the sheer size and complexity of the set make it a must-have for fans of the movie and LEGO collectors alike. It is a nostalgic trip down memory lane that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
