One of the best ways to earn a lot of Trailblaze XP and Stellar Jade in Honkai Star Rail is by finishing The Adventurous Moles side quest. This mission involves finding and solving a puzzle to find treasure locations.
To start The Adventurous Moles, players must complete Hook’s Companion Quest and reach Trailblaze Level 24. After that, they should visit Boulder Town and talk to Julian.
1. Carbine
The second of Hook’s adventure moles Companion Missions in Honkai: Star Rail, this complex scavenger hunt involves collecting missing pages from an old book about a mole who ran away from home. This Companion Mission requires players to solve puzzles across Jarilo-VI in order to locate the pages. Completing this task earns rewards like Stellar Jade, which can be used to buy special rail passes.
To unlock this mission, players must first complete Hook’s Old Foreman’s Treasure and beat Cocolia. Once they’ve done this, players will receive a message from Julian about a peculiar investigation that needs their help. Then, they can head to the Natasha’s Clinic Space Anchor and head southeast to find Julian.
Julian gives the player a book with several missing pages, and he explains that their gang’s leader had it stolen in the past. The table of contents in the book provides hints as to where the pages can be found, with the first page being located at the Great Mines in Boulder Town.
The next page can be found in Rivet Town, at a cave with metal shelves lining its walls. This area can be accessed through two iron doors, one of which will open as you approach it. Head inside to discover a chair that’s upside down on a table. Interact with the chair, and then choose to place it flat on the floor in order to collect this page.
2. Pava
The moles were chowing down on different flavours of mole, and it seemed like the food was getting better and better. There was a sweet pink mole made with beets, an expensive date or traditional mole costeno taco wrapped in bacon, and a tasty tamale with cooked octopus tentacle as garnish. There was also a variety of drinks, from fresh water to a savoury coffee that tasted like octopus vomit.
The old Silvermane Guard flask was hardly worth the price. It irritated Carbine who had an antique fetish and kept buying these cheap items, and it frustrated Becky who had a much more practical side to her character.
A more valuable item than the old flask was the cryptic parchment the moles found in the backwater pass. The table of contents was full of clues for puzzles that would lead to the treasures hidden all over Jarilo-VI. Collecting all of the book pages would earn the fourth little mole many rewards, including a ticket to Drake’s hidden treasure.
To unlock the Adventurous Moles Companion Mission, players must complete Hook’s Treasure side quest and reach Trailblazer Level 29. Once that’s done, the new quest marker will appear in Boulder Town beside Julian. Talk to him and he will initiate the adventure, which sees you hunt for Treasure pages all over the map.
3. Becky
In Empire, Gabourey Sidibe played Becky, Lucious Lyon’s assistant and head of A&R. She’s a woman of color who’s extremely aware of her privilege and weaponizes it against the world at large. She loves Toni Morrison books, votes blue and works at a bleeding heart nonprofit. She explains that she doesn’t have a racist bone in her body, even though she once had a black boner. And because Becky is a popular character, we’ve seen many other “Beckys” in real life, like the ones who vote for Obama a third time and work at some left-wing nonprofit.
One of the hardest-to-find side quests in Honkai Star Rail is The Adventurous Moles, which tasks players with collecting missing pages from a children’s book and finding treasure locations. While Julian provides some hints and clues, players must still find all four pages themselves. To begin the quest, the player must speak to Julian in Boulder Town. He’ll give them what’s left of the Adventurous Moles children’s book and a map with four clues that point to where to find the remaining pages. The first page is located near the entrance to the open-air cafe in Backwater Pass. The second is found in the Great Mine, where the player must climb to the Overlook fast travel location and collect a note on top of a crate. The third is found in Rivet Town, where the player must teleport to the Abandoned Market Space Anchor and enter a cave with storage shelves. The final page is in the Central Plaza area, where the player must talk to Nika, a Publishing House Editor.
4. Julian
Julian is one of the three Moles companions available in Honkai Star Rail, along with Becky and Pava. He unlocks as a companion when you complete Hook’s Treasure and defeat Cocolia during the ‘The Return’ Trailblaze Mission. Afterwards, you can find him outside of Natasha’s Clinic in Belobog’s Underworld. Talk to him, and he’ll explain that a damaged children’s book called the Adventurous Moles has several missing pages. He’ll give you the book, and its table of contents will include cryptic clues hinting at the locations where each page can be found.
Once you’ve collected all of the pages, you can return to Julian. He’ll thank you and give you the reward of raising your Trailblaze Level, 100 EXP, 30 Stellar Jade, 100 Shield, 8 Sparse Aether, and 8,000 Credits.
Conclusion
While he runs the main dirty dancing operations at the Roadhouse, and also has a sexy side, Julian seems to have a firm sense of morality. He’s willing to help those in need, even if they’re not his friends or family (“Rub N Tiz’zug”, “Dressed All Over And Zesty Mordant”). For example, when Randy evicted the residents of the trailer park, Julian bought them back and fixed their homes for them (“Gimme My Fuckin’ Money Or Randy’s Dead”). He also takes Cory and Trevor under his wing and teaches them how to be more like him.
