Umrah Haircut Rules for Men and Women

The importance of doing Umrah is the same for men and women, with a few small exceptions for women. Umrah is regarded as a miniature hajj, and it is the spiritual pilgrimage that allows us to go to the Makah location of Allah SWT’s dwelling. Muslims from all over the world travel to Makah to fulfill their Hajj and Umrah duties by taking advantage of several packages as you can avail of Umrah Packages.

Halq and Taqsir Rules:

Two significant rituals that must be carried out after performing Umrah are halq and taqsir. The correct time to execute these procedures, the Halq and Taqsir approaches, the duas to be recited while executing them, and many other details must be known by pilgrims. Here is an introduction to the material on the subject.

Importance of Umrah Haircut:

According to Umrah protocol, travelers must do either Halq or Taqsir to leave Ihram. To remove Ihram, women must clip their hair to the length of a fingertip. Numerous hadiths emphasize the significance of Umrah haircut rites, and Islamic scholars frequently recite these. Because one’s head hair is associated with one’s look and vanity in the outside world, this rite has special meaning. One must separate from it and adhere to the path of austerity and spirituality to entirely surrender to Allah.

Halq Rule for Men:

After doing Umrah, the practice of halq involves shaving the head. Only men are eligible for this rite. After Tawaf, pilgrims must complete this act to leave the stage of Ihram.

Taqsir for Women:

Taqsir, which refers to light hair clipping, is also advised for women making the Umrah. Women must trim their hair so that it is the length of a fingertip. Female pilgrims are encouraged to conduct Taqsir only after completing Umrah, during which they must trim their hair or remove a little section of it that is about the length of a fingertip. Female pilgrims may leave the state of Ihram after finishing the Taqsir.

Method of Halq and Taqsir:

To complete the Umrah pilgrimage, one must cut their hair according to the rules for men (halq) and women (taqsir), respectively. Men should have their heads shaved, while women’s hair should be cut to just past their fingertips. According to halq, shaving only part of the head is unacceptable. Even if they have short hair or have already shaved their heads, men should nonetheless do the operation by running razors over their heads.

Important Umrah haircut guidelines:

Women are never required to perform Halq. Women are advised to practice Taqsir alone. The entire head must be shaved if you’re performing Halq. Partial shaving is not taken into account.  A razor must be used for the process even if the man has no hair. Halq or taqsir must be performed facing the Qibla and from the right side. The pilgrim can execute both Halq and Taqsir by himself/herself.

Women’s Haircut Regulations:

The rules for women’s haircuts for Umrah are slightly different than those for males. To be released from Ihram, women should perform Taqsir rather than Halq. Before doing taqsir, one must cut all hair ends to at least the length of a fingertip. To properly break Ihram and complete the Umrah pilgrimage, a woman’s hair must be slightly trimmed, even if it is short.

When is Halq for Umrah performed?

After the completion of the Ihram, Tawaf, and Saee ceremonies, the Halq after Umrah is done. It is well known that to eliminate Ihram, Halq, or Taqsir must be performed. Because any haircut before performing Umrah will not be considered Halq or Taqsir, practicing Halq before Umrah is forbidden. Halq before Umrah is not permissible since it is prohibited to cut your hair once you are wearing Ihram.

Finally, the last step of Umrah’s obligation is to cut hair. Here women are allowed to only trim their hair. This process is known as Taqseer or Halq. Umrah rituals are the same for women as a man with minor changes for the ease and safety of women. Nowadays it has become very easy for a woman to join Umrah of Hajj travel by availing of Umrah & Hajj Packages like you can Book December Umrah Packages.
