The term “nature’s dessert” has historically been used to describe fruits. They give color to any menu, are healthy, and are, above all, delicious! Fruits that have been smoked become more juicy and delectable, much like anything else that has been grilled. So try one of these simple grilled fruit dishes the next time you have a barbecue for a healthy sweet dessert!
Dessert of cherry and peach with honey-cinnamon syrup
What you require:
3 peaches, pit removed, cut into bits.
halving 1 3/4 cups of cherries after removing the pits and stems
Honey, 1/4 cup
Butter, 1 1/2 tablespoons
1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Vanilla ice cream.
Honey, butter, and cinnamon are heated in a skillet over low heat until the butter has melted. Place aside. Peaches and cherries should be threaded onto skewers, then cooked for 10 to 15 minutes over medium-high heat on a preheated grill. Remove the fruit from the skewers onto a basin when ready. Fruits should be covered with honey-cinnamon syrup by pouring it over them and stirring. Over a dollop of vanilla ice cream, spoon the fruit mixture.
Grilled Fruit Salad
What you require:
a half of a cantaloupe, cut into cubes
a half of a pineapple, cut into cubes.
Cut up half a watermelon into cubes.
wedges cut off two peaches
2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
Salt as desired
Cantaloupe, pineapple, and watermelon cubes are threaded onto skewers in an alternating pattern. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side on a preheated grill over medium heat. When done, let them cool for a few minutes before removing them off the skewers. On a serving platter, arrange the grilled fruit and drizzle with the balsamic vinegar. Add fresh basil on top. If preferred, season with a little salt.
Rum and sugar Coconut Rings
What you require:
One pineapple, cored, and cut into approximately 8 rings.
12 cup brown sugar that has been packed
1/2 cup rum, dark
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, rum, and cinnamon. Put pineapple rings in a big dish and cover with rum mixture. fruit with syrup by tossing. Spend 15 to 20 minutes soaking. When ready, grill pineapples for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or just long enough for grill marks to emerge, over medium-high heat. Reduce by half the amount of extra rum mixture that has been heated through. Serve pineapples that have been grilled with rum sauce. If desired, add an ice cream scoop on top.
