Sometimes it is not possible to submit or update credit card information. This article describes some common error messages and how to resolve them.
Resolve transaction errors
You may see one of the following transaction errors when submitting your credit card information. Simply calling your credit card issuer often resolves many of the issues that cause this type of error, such as holds, credit limit issues, and transaction limits.
If you get an error message when saving your card, try clearing your cache and cookies and re-entering your card details one more time, but using a different browser and keeping the following criteria in mind:
- The Cardholder field should contain only the cardholder’s first name and last name if possible. Omit middle name, middle initial, and business names (unless the business name is the only name on the card).
- The Zip Code field should contain only the first five digits if you are in the United States. Do not include any extensions.
- Status is required if you are in the United States.
Resolve payment errors
You may see a payment error when logging in, after entering your credit card information. We understand that cards expire and there may be unforeseen events, so Zendesk has a grace period for updating card .
In this case, there is a pending invoice that we have not been able to collect on the card we have on file.
After each failed charge, an email message with information about the specific payment attempt, including an error code and description, is sent to the account’s billing contacts. The following section describes the most common error codes.
